KTR moots dedicated industrial park for Taiwanese firms

HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister for Information and Technology K Taraka Rama Rao on Friday met a team from Taiwan Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (TEEMA) and Taipei Economic and Cultural Center (TECC). The delegates discussed various topics including trade, economic cooperation and cultural exchange programs.

The delegation from Taiwan was led by Bau-Shuan Ger, Taiwan Representative to India and Richard Lee, Chairman of TEEMA.

The Minister highlighted Telangana's unique TS-iPASS system which bestows upon the investor, the right to get time-bound clearances to start their businesses. The minister also spoke about the need to create a dedicated industrial park in the State for Taiwanese companies and jointly work with industry and trade organizations of Taiwan.

The Minister further explained the various measures adopted by the government to improve the ease of doing business in the state and the prevailing conducive investor friendly ecosystem.

Richard Lee, Chairman of TEEMA said also expressed his views by saying that coming to Hyderabad was a home coming. He strongly vowed that Industries from both the countries and especially Telangana and Taiwan should focus on creating opportunities across research and design, innovation, product development and manufacturing.

Principal Secretary of Industries and Commerce Jayesh Ranjan said, "We appreciate their gesture of undertaking travel and visiting Hyderabad. We look forward to welcoming them and taking these discussions ahead."
