IMD issues orange alert for next two days in Telangana

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad witnessed heavy rains on Thursday, which were followed by a hailstorm this afternoon, bringing some relief from the scorching temperatures.
Rain started around 2:30 p.m., with gusty winds blowing towards the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region. A light hailstorm struck parts of Hyderabad on Thursday evening, including Secunderabad, Musheerabad, and Tarnaka, just days after hailstorm rain hit the Telangana district of Vikarabad.
Strong clouds formed in many parts of the city, and severe thunderstorms with isolated hailstorms were observed in some areas for nearly 1-2 hours. Waterlogging was recorded in some city areas within a few hours of the rain, causing traffic congestion.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has issued an orange warning for the entire state of Telangana until April 7, citing the possibility of more rain on Thursday and Friday.
