IMD issues 'Yellow Warning' for hot, humid weather in Telangana

HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a 'yellow warning' on Tuesday, predicting hot and humid weather for the next three days across Telangana.

According to the IMD, hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail in isolated pockets of several districts in Telangana on April 2, 2024. This pattern is likely to continue on April 3, 2024, and April 4, 2024.

Low-level winds are blowing from the south and southeast directions in Telangana, leading to dry weather conditions over the next three days. The maximum temperature in the state is expected to gradually increase by 2°C to 3°C over the next five days. Some districts may experience uncomfortably hot weather at isolated locations.

The highest maximum temperature recorded was 43 degrees Celsius in Chityal, Siddipet, while the state's average daytime maximum temperature stands at 39.8 degrees, compared to the normal temperature of 39.5 degrees.

In Medchal-Malkajgiri district, the highest maximum temperature of 41.9 degrees was recorded at the Community Hall, CBCID colony in KPHB. The GHMC's average daytime maximum temperature is 40.1 degrees, compared to the normal temperature of 39.2 degrees.
