HYDERABAD: IndiGo Airlines has come under severe criticism for creating hurdles for passengers by not allowing them to board the flights in the name of late arrival despite being on time.

The passengers who booked tickets on IndiGo flights to various domestic and international destinations were stranded at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on Thursday after the airlines closed boarding gates 25 minutes before the scheduled departure time. Passengers complained that they arrived on time thus leading to inconvenience.

The problems were aggravated by technical glitches in IndiGo’s web check-in servers due to which passengers could not complete the web check-in process. The passengers have voiced concerns over missed connecting flights, particularly international travelers who were forced to endure lengthy immigration queues, resulting in the unfortunate consequence of missing their onward flights.

They were found questioning the airline staff for not allowing them to board the flight even though they were waiting for the flight at the appropriate boarding gate mentioned on their boarding pass.

The IndiGo's management was under fire for acting against routine policies causing inconvenience to the passengers, particularly those who were supposed to catch connecting international flights.
