HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president and former IT and Industries Minister KT Rama Rao urged voters to elect 10-12 BRS candidates as Members of Parliament in the ensuing election to stop the exodus of investments out of Hyderabad.

Addressing an impressive roadshow at Jubilee Hills covering the Secunderabad Lok Sabha Constituency on Thursday, KTR said that Hyderabad being a cosmopolitan city with people from all over the country living in harmony should elect the BRS candidate Tigulla Padma Rao to protect the secular fabric of the city. "In just five months after Revanth Reddy took over, two major firms shifted their base to Gujarat and Tamil Nadu," he said.

“Out of the 24 Assembly seats in the GHMC area, people elected 16 BRS candidates because you are witnesses to the BRS transforming the city into a global hub. But the Congress successfully deceived the people from districts with its fake promises,” KTR said.

Breaking for Azan, KTR said that he respected all religious faiths and he briefly stopped his speech. “Hyderabad is our mother, that allowed everyone to grow. But Revanth Reddy’s Government with its false promises brought back water tankers and power outages,” KTR pointed out.

Forecasting a huge victory for the BRS in Secunderabad, he said that Congress candidate Danam Nagender who shifted his loyalty to Congress after being elected as an MLA on the BRS ticket could shift to the BJP after elections.

“While ‘Bade Bhai’ Narendra Modi cheated the electorate in 2014, his ‘Chote Bhai’ Revanth Reddy deceived people in 2023 and came to power. But is he treading the path of Narendra Modi or Rahul Gandhi?” KTR pointed out.

Urging voters not to get deceived by the BJP MP and Union Minister Kishan Reddy one more time, KTR said that the present Secunderabad MP did nothing for his Constituency. “He did nothing during the Corona. He distributed ‘’Kurkure’ while KCR ensured food and shelter for the migrant labour,” he said.

He said that Congress would not be able to stop the BJP and only regional parties such as BRS could stop the BJP. “I urge the urban electorate to make a point to vote on May 13. Come early and cast your vote,” KTR said.
