6th class student attempts suicide by jumping from KGBV school building in Suryapet

SURYAPET: A 6th class student at the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Maddirala, Suryapet district, attempted suicide by jumping from the second floor of the school building. The student allegedly took this extreme step due to harassment by the school staff, according to her parents.

The incident, which took place in the Tungaturthy constituency, was kept confidential by the school staff for several hours. The severely injured student was immediately shifted to the district area hospital for treatment.

The student's parents have accused the school authorities of subjecting their daughter to harassment, which led to the suicide attempt. Authorities are yet to respond to the allegations.
