HYDERABAD: BRS Working President K T  Rama Rao stated that Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy not only cheated the people of Telangana by failing to implement his promises but also misled Congress leader Rahul Gandhi into believing that all the promises had been fulfilled.

Speaking at a roadshow in Karman Ghat, part of the Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, to support BRS candidate Ragidi Lakshmareddy, KTR claimed that the people of Hyderabad had placed their trust in former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao by giving BRS 16 seats in Greater Hyderabad. However, the people in the district were deceived by Congress, which made a series of false promises.

KTR outlined several of Revanth Reddy's unfulfilled promises. "He promised Rs. 2,500 for all women, Rs. 4,000 pensions for senior citizens, Rythu Bharosa, and a tola of gold for newlywed women. We respected the election results and played the role of a constructive opposition. But Revanth Reddy hasn't kept a single promise in four months. Not only that, he told blatant lies to Rahul Gandhi," KTR remarked.

Referring to Rahul Gandhi's speech at a rally in Nirmal earlier today, KTR said that Gandhi claimed Rs. 2,500 was being given to all women in Telangana. "I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Nothing has been given to the people - no Rs. 2,500 for women, no Rs. 4,000 pension for senior citizens, no tola of gold for newlywed women, no Scootys, no Rythu Bharosa of Rs. 15,000, and no Rs. 500 bonus on paddy crops," he explained.

KTR pointed out that Revanth Reddy's deception of Rahul Gandhi signalled a lack of integrity and warned that it indicated where Revanth Reddy would stand after the Lok Sabha elections. He also highlighted inconsistencies in the Congress leaders' positions. "Rahul Gandhi accuses Modi of corruption, while Revanth Reddy calls Modi 'Bade Bhai.' Rahul Gandhi calls Adani a fraud, while Revanth Reddy is Adani's best friend. Rahul Gandhi claims the Gujarat model is a fraud, while Revanth Reddy says he will bring the Gujarat model to Telangana. Rahul Gandhi says there's no liquor scam, yet Revanth Reddy accused Kavitha of involvement," KTR pointed out.

Addressing the challenges faced by Hyderabad's residents, KTR mentioned electricity and water shortages. He asked the audience, "Did we face such issues when KCR was in charge?" He reiterated that if people gave BRS 10-12 Lok Sabha seats, KCR's leadership would return to Telangana within six months.

He also criticised the BJP for broken promises. "Prime Minister Narendra Modi didn't fulfill a single promise of depositing Rs. 15 lakh in every citizen's bank account, doubling farmers' income, or introducing a bullet train. Modi did nothing for Hyderabad, Telangana, or the country. When there was a flood in Hyderabad, not a single penny was given, but Gujarat received Rs. 1,000 crores. The BJP government even cancelled the ITIR project," he said.

KTR warned the people of Telangana against being deceived again by Congress and the BJP. "Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me," he remarked.
