Akhilesh Yadav condemns Chandrababu Naidu’s arrest, speaks to TDP leaders

AMARAVATI: Samajwadi Party national president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said that the trend of arresting opposition leaders has now become a trend for the Center to the States.
He was referring to the 14-day judicial remand of Andhra Pradesh former Chief Minister and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in connection with a scam in Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC).
Taking to Twitter, Akhilesh Yadav said, “Arresting the opposition party leaders is the policy of autocratic rulers, there is no place for this in a democracy. The BJP and their ‘opportunistic friends’ should remember that such deviation in political behavior may prove costly for them tomorrow. The selfish BJP is no one's political friend.”
The former UP Chief Minister condemned the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and termed it as illegal. Akhilesh Yadav spoke to former minister and TDP leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu over the phone. He also inquired about the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu and subsequent developments.
