VIJAYAWADA: In a surprise move, Former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu announced his exit from the YSRCP on Saturday less than 10 days of joining the party.

In a post on platform 'X', Rayudu said that along with his exit from the party, he would be taking a break from politics.

"This is to inform everyone that I have decided to quit the YSRCP Party and stay out of politics for a little while. Further action will be conveyed in due course of time. Thank You," he tweeted.

The cricketer had joined YSRCP on December 28, 2023 in the presence of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister K Narayana Swamy and Rajampeta Lok Sabha member P Mithun Reddy.

Rayudu represented the Indian cricket team in international tournaments and made significant contributions in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Of late, the former cricketer has been reaching out to the people through various programmes. Infact, Rayudu was the brand ambassador for Andhra Pradesh Government’s 'Aadudam Andhra' programme.
