ANANTAPUR: In a tragic incident, a two-year-old girl lost her life after consuming groundnut which got stuck in her throat at Nallacheruvu in Sri Satya Sai District on Wednesday.

According to reports, the two-year-old girl was identified as Nayana Sree. She was the daughter of Hanumanthu, a native of Vasanthapura of Bagepalli Taluk in Karnataka. Hanumanthu, along with his family, reached his relative's house in Nallacheruvu. Accidentally, the girl had kept a groundnut seed in her mouth and her attempt to consume it it got stuck in her throat.

After noticing her daughter crying in pain, the girl’s mother gave her water, but that didn’t help. She immediately alerted her husband and neighbours who rushed the girl to a private hospital in Kadiri. Doctors, after examining the girl’s health, referred her to the Government Hospital. However, the doctors there declared the girl was brought dead to the hospital.

A pall of gloom descended on Nallacheruvu with family and relatives mourning the two-year-old girl’s death.
