Andhra Pradesh Govt raises social security pensions to Rs 3,000 from Rs 2,750

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Government on Thursday rolled out an increment of Rs 250 to beneficiaries of social security pensions under the YSR Pension Kanuka scheme making it Rs 3,000 from Rs 2,750.

Special Chief Secretary to Government B Rajasekhar on Thursday released orders by increasing the pension amount by Rs 250. With this, about 61 lakh beneficiaries would get a pension amount of Rs 3,000 every month from January 1, 2024.

As per the promise made during electioneering in 2019, YS Jagan had enhanced the monthly pension amount from Rs 2,000 to Rs 3,000 in a phased manner in the last four-and-a-half years for elders, widow, weavers, toddy tappers, fishermen, single women, traditional cobblers and PHLIV (ART pensions) under the YSR Pension Kanuka.
