AMARAVATHI: Andhra Pradesh High Court has dismissed the anticipatory bail petition of TDP General Secretary Nara Lokesh in the Amaravathi Inner Ring Road case.

The AP CID registered a case on Lokesh, among others, in the Amaravathi Inner Ring Road case charging them with corrupt practices to deliver illegal favours to some of their favoured individuals.

Advocate-General of AP Sriram Subrahmanyam appeared for the CID. He informed the High Court that notices were being issued under Section 41(A) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).

The section deals with Notice of appearance before police officer.-- (1) 2[The police officer shall], in all cases where the arrest of a person is not required under the provisions of sub-section (1) of section 41, issue a notice directing the person against whom a reasonable complaint has been made, or credible information has been received, or a reasonable suspicion exists that he has committed a cognizable offence, to appear before him or at such other place as may be specified in the notice.

The CID teams have left for New Delhi, where Lokesh is currently engaged in a series of meetings to fight against the arrest of his father Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu, to arrest him.
