AP CID police arrest TDP president Chandrababu Naidu at Nandyal in early hours amidst high drama

.NANDYAL: Amidst high drama, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by the Andhra Pradesh CID officials in the alleged skill development scam. A huge contingent of the police led by Nandyal range DIG Raghurami Reddy reached the RK Function Hall in the town around 3 am to take him into custody.

During his arrest, Naidu sought to know why he was being arrested and in which case. He said that his name was not mentioned in any FIR. CID DIG Raghurami Reddy informed him that he would be informed about the details after his formal arrest. Naidu insisted on being informed about the case in which he was being arrested.

Later, he budged and urged the police to let him travel by his convoy to which the CID police acceded. He would be shifted to Orvakal Airprort and from there to Gannavaram.

Doctors then conducted a preliminary medical tests on Naidu. It is learnt that he’s suffering from high blood pressure and increased sugar levels.

Speaking to the media, Naidu said, "I have not committed any mistake. They came in the midnight and unleashed a reign of terror. I also demanded proof of concept and prima facie evidence. They have not informed any charges and no evidence of my involvement in any cases.'

"I am appealing to people of the State. I am fighting for people’s problems. I am very saddened. I am appealing to people and TDP activists to maintain restraint," he added.I

It was exactly three days ago that Naidu, at a press conference in Anantapuramu, had said that the YSR Congress Government might arrest or attack him. “I lived like a fire for 45 years in public life. Even YSR foisted 26 cases against me and nothing could be proved. There was no evidence in any cases,” he had said.
