AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Government has declared a two-day state mourning and deputed three IAS officers to attend the funeral of Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, Chairman of the Eenadu Group and Padma Vibhushan awardee, who passed away on June 8.

The mourning period will be observed from June 9 (Sunday) to June 10 (Monday). During this period, the national flag will be flown at half-mast across Andhra Pradesh, and all official entertainment activities will be suspended.

Further, the Andhra Pradesh Government has deputed three senior IAS officers to attend his funeral, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. on June 9 at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. They are Special Chief Secretary (Excise) Dr. Rajat Bhargava, Chief Commissioner of Land Administration G. Sai Prasad, and AP Human Resources Development Institute Director R. P. Sisodia.

The AP Government, in its order, said that the official mourning and deputation of IAS officers for the funeral was being done in recognition of Ramoji Rao's services to society, the media, and the film industry and as a mark of respect to the departed legendary media personality,
