AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday posted further hearing on the anticipatory bail petition of former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the free sand scam case to November 22.

The counsel for Naidu argued that the free sand case was imposed on the former CM with a political motive and ensured that he would stay in jail for a long time. The counsel further argued that the Government was unhappy with the campaign by the TDP against it on its false sand policy.

The Court posting further hearing to November 22, directed the APCID to file a counter. The APCID filed an FIR based on the complaint made by the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) that the former Chief Minister and the other accused who were part of the then State Government intentionally caused a huge dent to the State exchequer to the extent of Rs 10,000 crore. The mineral corporation alleged that the accused resorted to corruption in the guise of free sand policy.
