AP High Court reserves verdict on Chandrababu Naidu’s Angallu bail, disposes off Lokesh's bail in skill scam
In a temporary relief to Nara Lokesh, the CID has told the Andhra Pradesh High Court that the agency has not yet added his name to the FIR of the skill development scam case

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh High Court reserved its verdict on the anticipatory bail petition of Nara Chandrababu Naidu in the Angallu attempt to murder case on Friday. The Court heard arguments from both sides and would deliver the verdict on Friday.
Dammalapati Srinivas, the counsel for Chandrababu Naidu urged the court to grant anticipatory bail and assured that his client would abide by the conditions laid down by the court at the time of granting of the bail. The counsel for CID argued that the accused in the case encouraged his cadre to attack the police which led to large-scale violence in Angallu.
The Mudivedu police in Annamayya district on August 9, 2023, registered a criminal conspiracy and attempt to murder case against the TDP president and 15 other leaders of the party in connection with the violence reported during Chandrababu Naidu’s roadshow in Angallu. The Mudivedu police registered an FIR against Naidu and others under sections 120b, 147,148,153,307,115,109,323, 506 r/w149 of IPC.
Relief to Nara Lokesh
In a temporary relief to Nara Lokesh, the beleaguered general secretary of TDP, the CID has told the Andhra Pradesh High Court that the agency has not yet added his name to the FIR of the multi-crore skill development scam case.
Following this, the court disposed off the anticipatory bail petition filed by Lokesh in the skill scam case. The CID however told the court they would issue a notice under CrPC 41-A to Lokesh if they decide to add his name to the FIR in which former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu was mentioned A-37.
While the court posted the hearing on Lokesh's anticipatory bail petition at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, the CID appeared before the bench and said that the question of bail didn’t arise as Lokesh's name was not added to the FIR. Lokesh sought bail his name was mentioned in the FIR, not as an accused but as a person who knew about the policy matters of skill development in the State.
