NIZAMPATNAM (Bapatla District): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday lambasted the TDP and Jana Sena stating that the two parties lacked credibility and were trying to survive just by forging alliances. The TDP, which was afraid of contesting all the 175 seats, would not get even second place in the next elections, he claimed.

Addressing a public meeting after disbursing Matsyakara Bharosa assistance to marine fishermen in Nizampatnam on Tuesday, the Chief Minister said that the TDP president Chandrababu Naidu only knew backstabbing, political alliances, conspiracies and gimmicks. His foster son Pawan Kalyan, on the other hand, danced to his tunes parroting the septuagenarian’s words and only willing to make new political alliances and grant divorces at will, he said.

Calling the Jana Sena chief a wholesale package star, YS Jagan said the actor, who was defeated in two constituencies in last elections, was only conducting stop-gap political meetings between his film shooting schedules. Like the TDP chief, Jana Sena chief too had no guts to put up candidates in all 175 constituencies for his party, he commented.

He further said that the TDP and Jana Sena had no political credibility as Chandrababu Naidu remembered weaker sections and minorities only at the time of elections while Pawan Kalyan played second fiddle to Naidu as part of their political match-fixing. “Aided by friendly media, they are waging a war against the people, and not just against Jagan,” he said, appealing to the people to be cautious of their cunning designs.

“The TDP chief never gets tired of claiming that he made Prime Ministers and Presidents. But, when we think of his 14-year rule, not even a single welfare scheme comes to our mind. Instead, he is remembered only for his backstabbing and cheating nature,” the Chief Minister said. Efforts of Naidu to wriggle out of the ventilator will not succeed, he added.

He said that he never compromised on principles and policies in his 15-year-long political career but the TDP entered into political wedlock with BJP, Congress and Communists conveniently divorcing its partners at will for political gains while the wholesale package star was dancing to Naidu’s tunes.

“As Opposition leader, I built my house at Tadepalli and as Chief Minister, I am living there. But Chandrababu built his palace at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad when he was in power and is now living there after losing the elections. His foster son is also not willing to stay in the State. What good will they do to the people except pursue the policy of loot, stash, and devour?” he asked, urging the people to recognise the difference between the YSRCP and the Opposition parties.

While Chandrababu Naidu had no concern even for those who died in stampedes in his public meetings held in narrow lanes, his foster son was happy with packages, the Chief Minister said, adding that both of them envy his Government’s welfare schemes. YS Jagan said that the Government spent over Rs 2,10,000 crore in the last four years on a plethora of welfare schemes and fulfilled 98 percent of election promises.

“I am only depending on God, on my good performance, and on your support while Naidu and his foster son, aided by their friendly media are behaving like a gang of robbers,” he said, calling upon the people to become his soldiers and work for the victory of YSRCP in the next elections.

YSR Matsyakara Bharosa funds released

The Chief Minister released Rs.123.52 crore under the YSR Matsyakara Bharosa programme as assistance for the marine fishing ban period from April 15 to June 14 benefiting 1,23,519 fishermen families across the State. An amount of Rs 10,000 each would be credited directly into their bank accounts.

He also released Rs 107.91 crore towards assistance for 23,458 fishermen families who lost their livelihood due to ONGC pipeline works in Konaseema and Kakinada districts. He also laid the foundation stone for the Rs 417-crore Nizampatnam fishing harbour.
