AMARAVATI: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) National President N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday urged his party MPs to highlight the worsening law and order situation in the State and the destructive politics played by the ruling YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Government.

In a preparatory meeting with the MPs at his residence, he discussed the strategy to be adopted by the party in the ensuing Parliament session from July 20, 2023. “The YCP Government despite having a strength of 31 MPs failed miserably in securing the assurances given by the Centre even after nine years of bifurcation of the State,” he observed.

He alleged that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy did nothing for the State except save his skin in the ill-gotten wealth cases. He also wanted the party MPs to highlight the mismanagement of the Polavaram project by the YCP Government.

While pointing out that the State Government failed to garner additional funds for the Central institutions that the TDP government secured for the State, he wanted to know a single new project that the present Government had achieved in the past four years. “Including Vizag railway zone and Metro project, none of the pertinent issues were highlighted by that party’s MPs in the parliament,” Chandrababu said.

He advised the Members of Parliament to be vocal while raising the issue of derailed law and order situation in the State. “You must bring to the notice of the Parliament the unabated attacks on dalits, tribals and all weaker sections,” he said.

Attributing the delay in the execution of the Polavaram irrigation project, to the reverse tendering process adopted by the State Government, Chandrababu Naidu wanted the MPs to highlight the need to inter-link rivers. A decision was taken at the meeting to collectively decide on issues that would arise during the session on a priority basis at the party as well as Parliamentary party level.

Party MPs Rammohan Naidu, Galla Jayadev, Kesineni Nani, Kanakamedala Ravindra Kumar and Ex-MP Kambhampati Rammohan attended the meeting.
