TIRUPATI: Nara Bhuvaneswari, wife of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has kickstarted the TDP's version of 'Odarpu Yatra' with 'Nijam Gelavali' bus yatra in Chandragiri, Tirupati district on Wednesday.

The Nijam Gelavali yatra was meant to console the families of those who died following the illegal arrest of Naidu. As many as 105 allegedly died of grief because they couldn't bear the illegal arrest of Naidu, according to TDP leaders.

Initially, Bhuvaneswari embarked on the bus yatra after paying floral tributes to the statue of her father and TDP founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) at Naravaripalle in Kuppam constituency. She reached Bazar Street in Chandragiri and extended her solidarity to the family members of A Praveen Reddy, who died on October 17 in the aftermath of Chandrababu Naidu's arrest.

Praveen Reddy was a sympathiser of the TDP and worked actively in the party's social media team. Bhuvaneswari handed over a cheque of Rs 3 lakh to the family members of Praveen Reddy and assured to extend all support to them.

She further proceeded to Nendragunta and consoled the family members of TDP sympathiser K Chinnabba, who died of cardiac arrest due to the 'shock' over the arrest of Naidu on September 25. Later, Bhuvaneswari also handed over a cheque of Rs 3 lakh to the family members of Chinnabba.

Bhuvaveswari would continue the yatra for three days in Tirupati and Chittoor districts.
