AMARAVATI: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is all set to play a key role in national politics.

With the BJP losing its sheen and forced to depend more on its NDA partners, a resurgent Nara Chandrababu Naidu could play an important role in the formation of a stable NDA Government at the centre.

Naidu’s TDP is leading in 16 Lok Sabha seats out of the 25 MP seats in Andhra Pradesh and alliance party JSP is leading in two seats, the numbers from the State of Andhra Pradesh could become vital for the saffron party.

Naidu is also equally dependent on a friendly Government at the centre to fulfill his super six guarantees, build Amaravati, and bring investments and employment.

BJP State in charge Sidharthnath Singh met Naidu at his Undavalli residence and wished him well. Naidu also called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and informed the success of the alliance in Andhra Pradesh. A TDP statement said that the Prime Minister and Home Minister also congratulated Naidu on his success.

The word is out that even Congress started sending feelers to Naidu for a possible change of mind. While sources at TDP headquarters here refuted any such move, Naidu made it clear that his main focus would be rebuilding the State.

The resurgence of Chandrababu Naidu who was described as a faded politician by analysts a few months ago was made possible by several factors but mainly the timely stitching of alliance with JSP of Pawan Kalyan and the BJP in a State and the successful shifting of anti-incumbency votes to the alliance partners.
