MARKAPURAM: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has called the TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu a ‘sadist’ for obstructing the welfare schemes aimed at the poor by frequently approaching the court while addressing the huge gathering in Markapuram as part of his 'Memantha Siddham Yatra' on Sunday.

On the tenth day of his yatra, participating in the public meeting, the Chief Minister said, “Preventing the poor from accessing the housing scheme, disrespecting the farmers who get free electricity and basically a person who cannot see good things happening to the poor is called a sadist. Is there a bigger sadist than Babu who tried to prevent English education for the poor?”

He added that Chandrababu is a sadist for propagating that Andhra Pradesh would become Sri Lanka without any basis. “He (Chandrababu) could not take it that volunteers are serving poor selflessly and delivering the pensions on time. Even the TDP harassed Geethanjali (from Tenali) for benefiting from the Government schemes and posting them on social media. She eventually ended her life after endless trolling by the TDP,” said the Chief Minister.

“A person, who was a Chief Minister previously, is engaging in derogatory remarks against marginalised communities like SC/ST/BC and minorities, without understanding the hardships they face can be labeled a sadist,” said the Chief Minister.

He asked the people whether Chandrababu could even name one scheme that benefited the people during his 14 years in power. “But YSRCP has benefited every village. We have directly given Rs 2.7 lakh crore through DBT, and implemented 99 per cent of our manifesto promises in 58 months,” said Chief Minister Jagan.

He asked the people to vote for YSRCP if they want the development of Government schools, empowerment of women, welfare for the old-age people, and other welfare schemes to continue for the next five years or vote for Chandrababu Naidu to end it.

“Are you all ready to defeat the opposition who are anti-poor? This election will decide your future for the next five years. Further, Chandrababu complained via Nimmagadda Ramesh to the Election Commission, which prevented the old-age people from getting pensions on their doorstep and made them visit village secretariats under the scorched sun,” the Chief Minister added.

Explaining the State’s development, the Chief Minister noted that Chandrababu promised high-tech cities in Andhra Pradesh among various other things but didn’t make any single major achievement.

“Meanwhile, we have delivered and developed the State with new ports, airports, fishing harbours, new medical colleges and so on,” said the Chief Minister.
