VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Irrigation Minister and YSRCP leader Ambati Rambabu said that Chandrababu Naidu's arrest was inevitable and that the TDP president was the mastermind of many scams.

Addressing the media on Saturday, Ambati Rambabu said that Naidu was taken into custody only after all the evidence against him was collected.

"Chandrababu had sent Rs 371 crore from the Government treasury to shell companies and then pocketed that money," he said.

Ambati suspected that Chandrababu Naidu's son Nara Lokesh too could have a role in the illegalities.

"Anyone involved will be punished according to law. Naidu's irregularities will soon be exposed in other scams too like Amaravati land scam, AP Fibernet scam and Amaravati Ring Road scam and will be arrested in those too," said Ambati Rambabu.

Meanwhile, IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath denied allegations that Chandrababu Naidu's arrest was politically motivated. He said that if the intention was to target the party, they would have arrested Chandrababu as soon as they came to power in 2019. Amarnath described Naidu as a skilled criminal and an unskilled politician. He accused him of looting public money in the name of Siemens.

"The ED has already arrested eight individuals in this case and alleged that Chandrababu is the mastermind, regardless of who the other accused may be," he said.

Mines and Industries Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy also lashed out at Chandrababu Naidu and said that they would not spare anyone involved in the scam. He questioned whether there was a rule to not arrest a man who had forty years of political experience.

Housing Minister Jogi Ramesh pointed out that Naidu would have eventually beenarrested sometime and the outcome was good.

"Naidu had said that he would invest Rs 3,000 crore in a company called Siemens. Instead, he deposited crores of rupees into his account and that's I am happy that he was finally arrested today. His arrest is auspicious for this State," he said..
