VIJAYAWADA: The AP-CID on Friday gave an undertaking in the Supreme Court that TDP president Chandrababu Naidu would not be arrested in the Fibernet scam case until next Wednesday i.e October 18, 2023. Meanwhile the court posted further hearing of quash petition in the Skill Development Scam case on October 17.

Chandrababu's lawyer Siddharth Luthra argued that multiple cases were being filed against the TDP president and that the trial of the Skill scam case was related to the Fibernet case. It was brought to the court's attention that a warrant was issued to produce Chandrababu on Octobet 16 in another case.

Justice Trivedi questioned Luthra about challenging 17A, to which Luthra responded affirmatively, stating that 17A was applicable everywhere.

Senior advocate Mukul Rohatgi, speaking on behalf of the CID, stated that even if the law was repealed or withdrawn, the law existing at the time of the crime would still be applicable. He mentioned that amendment of the Act was not applicable to Naidu because the offense was committed before the new Act came into force.
