ONGOLE: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has alleged that TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu's cunningness was worse than a mix of 100 villains and all evil forces mentioned in the Puranas.

He was speaking on the occasion of distribution of registered conveyance deeds to 31.19 lakh poor women beneficiaries under the 'Navratanalu Pedalandariki Illu' Scheme in Ongole on Friday.

Calling the scheme as historic, he said that the road to implementing this unprecedented scheme was not an easy one. He criticised Chandrababu Naidu for filing 1,191 court cases to obstruct the state government from providing houses to the poor. He accused Naidu of being anti-poor and stated that his actions revealed his lack of concern for the welfare of the poor in the state.

The Chief Minister also criticised Naidu for filing lawsuits against the government for distributing house sites to the poor in Amaravati, citing that it would lead to demographic imbalance. He further said that Naidu had humiliated SCs, BCs, and other weaker sections of society with disparaging remarks during his tenure as Chief Minister.

He emphasised that Naidu, who never gave a single piece of land to the poor during his tenure, created legal hurdles to prevent them from gaining social and economic empowerment. He called upon the people not to be misled by the false and misleading promises of TDP and Naidu's foster son.

The Chief Minister also claimed that Naidu had lost support from his family and the people of Andhra Pradesh. He said even Naidu’s wife had realised that he couldn’t win the next election in his own constituency Kuppam and offerred to contest from there. He asked the people not to be misled by the false and misleading promises of TDP and Naidu’s ‘foster son.’

He said that Naidu had no moral right to approach the voters as he had cheated all sections of people by defaulting on his loan waiver promise to farmers and self-help groups and throwing his 2014 election manifesto into the dustbin after coming to power.

On the other hand, CM Jagan said that the YSRCP was ready to face the public and seek votes in the forthcoming elections citing its good deeds in the last 58 months. The Chief Minister called upon the people to vote YSRCP back to power if they feel they have benefited through the slew of welfare schemes.

Earlier, while initiating the distribution of registered conveyance deeds to 31.19 lakh poor women beneficiaries under the 'Navratanalu Pedalandariki Illu' scheme, the Chief Minister granted full rights and sanctioned houses within the Ongole Municipal Corporation limits to 20,840 impoverished women.

Jagan expressed his pride and happiness in fulfilling the dreams of lakhs of poor women who always wanted to own a house. It was the first time ever that registered conveyance deeds were being distributed for houses allocated to the poor, providing them with full property rights on the house plots. The YSRCP government has expedited the registration process through village/ward secretariats, which was free of cost.

The government spent Rs 210 crore and procured 536.11 acres of land from Malleshwarapuram, N Agraharam, Yerrajerla, and Vengamukkalapalem areas for the house sites. The government would spend another Rs 21.33 crore for developing basic amenities in Jagananna Housing Layouts. The scheme had been designed to ensure that the poor got full property rights to their houses, just like the privileged, and were not left at a disadvantage.

Addressing a huge gathering, Jagan elaborated that he, along with his government officials, had been consistently working towards uplifting the poor and providing them with the same opportunities as the privileged. He initiated this program to grant full property rights to the poor to ensure that justice was not reserved only for the elite. The beneficiaries expressed their happiness and gratitude towards the CM for fulfilling their dreams of owning a house.

After receiving the free house sanction letter, a woman beneficiary, Lalitha Maunika, thanked CM Jagan and stated that poor people like them used to think owning a house was impossible. However, today, CM Jagan had proved them wrong by providing house sites and titles without cost. Another beneficiary, Siva Parvathi, couldn't hold her happiness and stated that she had lived in Ongole for the past 20 years without her own house. However, MLA Balineni Srinivas had assured her that one day she would own a house. Today, CM Jagan had fulfilled her wish by making her the owner of a house worth Rs 6 lakh.
