NANDYAL: Condemning the arrest of arrest of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development scam and his subsequent imprisonment in Rajamahendravaram prison, his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari will undertake a one-day fast on October 2 as a form of protest.

K Atchan Naidu, State TDP president, made this announcement in Nandyal on Saturday. He has called on the public to join the protest by turning off their lights for five minutes at 7 pm on October 2 and lighting candles on their verandas. This follows the ‘Motha Mogiddam’ protest called by the TDP on September 30 where the party has appealed to the people to come out of their houses and offices at 7 pm and beat utensils, ring bells, blow whistles and make other kinds of noise for five minutes to express solidarity to Naidu.

He also stated that 97 TDP supporters had tragically passed away due to the distress caused by Chandrababu Naidu's arrest. The party's political action committee, which convened in Nandyal on Saturday, expressed condolences for these losses and resolved to visit the grieving families to convey their sympathies.

Additionally, Jana Sena Party president Pawan Kalyan would embark on a four-day tour of the Machilipatnam Parliamentary constituency starting Sunday. K Atchan Naidu indicated that a joint action committee comprising members from the TDP and Jana Sena Party would soon be established to initiate a grassroots-level campaign against the Andhra Pradesh Government.
