NEW DELHI: A Supreme Court Bench consisting of Justices Aniruddha Bose and Bela M Trivedi on Friday posted further hearing of the anticipatory bail in connection with the Fibernet scam case to November 9.

Beginning the arguments Naidu’s counsel senior advocate Sidharth Luthra said there were three FIRs against Naidu out of which judgment was reserved in one. Justice Bose said that then the Bench would wait for the judgment in that case.

Counsel for the Andhra Pradesh Government said that arrest of a person who was already in jail will not arise.” Judicial custody will continue vis-a-vis that case as well. We have stated that in our counter-affidavit. We should await the judgment,” he said. The Judge then posted the hearing to November 9. The Bench also directed the APCID not to arrest Naidu in the Fibernet case till the bail case comes for hearing in the Supreme Court.

Naidu appealed to the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail after the AP High Court dismissed his anticipatory Bail on September 9.

Meanwhile, the ACB Court in Vijayawada refused to grant three legal ‘Mulaqats’ for Chandrababu Naidu currently jailed in Rajamahendravaram Central Prison. Naidu filed a petition seeking three legal Mulaqats every day after the AP Government slashed the number of legal Mulaqats from two to one.
