AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh state government has increased the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of its employees posted in the headquarters of nine newly created districts to 16 percent with effect from the month of June.

The new district headquarters of restructured districts are Parvathipuram, Paderu, Anakapalli, Amalapuram, Bhimavaram, Bapatla, Narsaraopeta, Puttaparthy and Rayachoty. A GO was issued to effecting the change.

The order was necessitated as the above-mentioned headquarters failed to qualify for the sanction of 16 percent due to stipulated population parameters. Following the request of the employees in these nine district headquarters, the government hiked the HRA from 12 percent to 16 percent.

With this decision, all the employees working in the district headquarters in Andhra Pradesh will receive a uniform (16 percent) HRA.
