HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a storm and heavy rainfall warning for the coasts of Andhra Pradesh and Odisha States.

According to the IMD, severe winds reaching 50 kmph along and off the coast of Andhra Pradesh due to an atmospheric depression that originated over the west-central Bay of Bengal and moved towards the Andhra coast.

The depression over the west-central Bay of Bengal has intensified into a deep depression due to its north and northeastward movement, according to IMD.

The IMD had also predicted heavy rainfall at one or two places over South Coast Coastal Andhra Pradesh for November 16, 2023. Fishermen were advised not to venture into the sea along and off North Andhra Pradesh coast ans Yanam for the next three days.

Weather warning for Fishermen for Bay of Bengal (other than Andhra coast)

Day 1 (November 16): Squally weather with wind Speed 60-70 Kmph Gusting To 80 Kmph prevailing over Northwest and adjoining Northeast Bay Of Bengal.

Squally weather with wind speed 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph prevailing over northwest and northeast bay of bengal, adjoining central bay of bengal, along and off odisha, West Bengal coasts.

Day 2 (November 17): Squally Weather with wind speed 60-70 kmph gusting to 80 kmph prevailing over Northwest and Northeast Bay Of Bengal, along and off West Bengal.

Day 3 (November 18): Squally weather with wind speed 50-60 Kmph gusting to 70 kmph prevailing over Northeast and adjoining Northwest Bay Of Bengal, along and off West Bengal Coasts.
