VIJAYAWADA: It seems the YSRCP has taken the comments made by the Gannavaram YSRCP leader Yarlagadda Venkata Rao against the party’s leadership in a lighter vein.

A couple of days ago, Yaralagadda Venkata Rao convened a meeting with his followers and supporters in Gannavaram and reiterated his commitment for contesting the Gannavaram Assembly constituency in the 2024 elections. He also said that the same would be discussed with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

YSRCP general secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy made interesting comments on Yaralagga Venkata Rao’s episode during the birthday celebrations of former minister and Vijayawada West MLA Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao held on Sunday. He announced that Malladi Vishnu, Devineni Avinash and Vellampalli Srinivasa Rao would be the candidates from Central, West and East Assembly constituencies of Vijayawada respectively for the 2024 elections.

Reacting to the comments made by Yaralagadda Venkata Rao, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said, “Venkata Rao should decide whether to continue or leave the YSRCP. YS Jagan is aware of utilising the services of leaders in the party accordingly. If any leader’s candidature is denied as MLA, they will be given nominated posts or any other prominent positions. The TDP is welcoming the YSRCP leaders who are kept aside and are trying to prove the days are numbered for the YSRCP.”

Yarlagadda Venkata Rao had been vocal against the YSRCP leadership's decision asking him to unite and work with Vallabhaneni Vamsi, by whom he was defeated in the 2019 elections. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s recent comments on Yaralagadda Venkata Rao had once again sparked another controversy in Krishna district politics.
