AMARAVATI: After the formation of the new government in Andhra Pradesh, there will be major bureaucratic changes in the postings of IAS officers.

K Vijayanand is likely to be appointed as the new Chief Secretary as the term of the current Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy is ending at the end of June.

Vijayanand is currently the Special Chief Secretary of the Energy Department.

K Vijayanand, a senior IAS officer of the 1992 batch of the Andhra Pradesh government, held the additional charge of the post of Chief Secretary in the previous government for a few days.

Vijayanand, who belongs to the BC (Yadava) community, served as the Collector of Nalgonda and Ranga Reddy districts in the erstwhile state, as well as the CMD of AP Transco and AP Genco.

After the bifurcation of the state, he served as the Principal Secretary (Energy and IT) in the Andhra Pradesh government and also served as the CEO of the State Election Commission.

Meanwhile, senior IPS officer Balasubramaniam is likely to be posted as the new intelligence chief of AP. Balasubramanyam has been on leave for the past three years.
