HYDERABAD: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted four days of light to moderate rains in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh beginning on Sunday.

Thunderstorms with lightning are very likely to occur in isolated locations in a few places in Telangana, according to the IMD.



The Directorate of Enforcement Vigilance and Disaster Management (EV&DM) wing of GHMC requested citizens to be cautious and to plan their journey accordingly.





Taking to Twitter, T Balaji, popularly known as Telangana Weatherman said that heavy rains were expected in Medchal district would further cover Siddipet, Yadadri, Jangaon, Warangal and Hanamkonda districts. Hyderabad again narrowly missed rains, while Northern parts of the city would receive heavy rains and core parts of the city would experience light to moderate rains, he said.



In Andhra Pradesh, East-West wind shear continues along 19°N latitude at 4.5 and 5.8 km above mean sea level in the Bay of Bengal. Westerly winds were blowing in the lower troposphere in Yanam, Andhra Pradesh. The IMD Amravati Centre said that there was a possibility of moderate rains for the next 3 days.


Taking to Twitter, Sai Kiran, also known as Vizag Weatherman, said that many regions in Andhra Pradesh had received insufficient rainfall this monsoon season. South Coastal AP, Eastern Rayalaseema, and Uttarandhra Coastal mandals in particular. He said that, in addition to Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Eluru, Kadapa, and Nellore were also facing rainfall deficiency.
