MACHILIPATNAM: The police have successfully resolved the murder case of renowned doctor Macherla Radha who was murdered on July 25 in Machilipatnam of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. Husband of the deceased, Dr Lokanadham Maheswara Rao and his driver Jasti Janardhan alias Madhu, have been arrested.
Krishna district Superintendent of Police (SP) SP Joshua explained that Dr Macherla Radha was brutally murdered in her residence on July 25, 2023. "Personal issues and property disputes between Dr Maheswara Rao and his wife led to the murder. The accused had planned the murder three months ago and gave supari of Rs 30 lakhs to the driver to carry out the murder," he said.
The SP said that Dr Maheswara Rao, with the help of the driver, killed his wife by striking her on the head with an iron rod on the afternoon of July 25 and then went to his clinic. The doctor then complained to the police at 10:30 PM pretending to be innocent after sprinkling chilli powder to misguide the dog squad. SP Joshua stated that the two accused have been arrested after an extensive investigation.
