TIRUPATI: In a shocking incident, a man stabbed his wife and brother-in-law to death at a hotel in Tirupati in the early hours of Friday.

The police said that the two deceased were identified as Manisha and Harshavardhan. The accused, identified as Yuvaraj, a resident of Nanded district in Maharashtra, came to Tirumala along with his family members on a pilgrimage.

Yuvaraj stayed at a hotel in Kapila Theertham circle in the city. At around 2 am, Yuvaraj stabbed his wife and brother-in-law to death. After the incident, he surrendered himself at the Alipiri police station.

Yuvaraj and Manisha got married twelve years ago and are survived by two children, Paksham (6) and Pragna (4). The police inspected the crime spot and shifted the bodies for post-mortem.

A case was registered and further investigations were underway into the incident to ascertain the reason for Yuvaraj to kill his wife and brother-in-law.
