MEIL joins AP government's relief efforts, feeds 1.35 lakh flood victims in Vijayawada
MEIL, partnering with the Hare Krishna Movement, distributes food to 1.35 lakh flood victims in Vijayawada, pledges ongoing support.
VIJAYAWADA: Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Limited (MEIL) has responded to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu's appeal to aid the flood-affected residents of Vijayawada. In partnership with the Hare Krishna Movement, MEIL has launched a large-scale food distribution initiative to relieve those impacted by the recent floods.
On Tuesday, MEIL and the Hare Krishna Movement distributed food to 1,35,000 people at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium in Vijayawada. The program provided breakfast to 25,000 individuals, while lunch and dinner were distributed to 1,10,000 people. The food, prepared in the Hare Krishna Movement and MEIL kitchens, was handed over to government officials at the collector's office for distribution in the flood-hit areas.
MEIL has committed to continuing this food distribution effort for several more days, with plans to increase the quantity to serve even more people. The relief program will include breakfast, lunch, dinner, and water bottles.
MEIL has a strong social responsibility track record, especially during natural disasters. The company has provided immediate relief efforts, such as managing hospitals, constructing cancer hospitals, and participating in food distribution through initiatives like Akshaya Patra.
"We are dedicated to standing by those affected by natural disasters," said Kommareddy Bapi Reddy, in Charge of MEIL's AP Regional Office. Our organisation is committed to being at the forefront of helping those in need, fulfilling our social responsibility."
