RJAHAMUNDRY: “My father late Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), my husband N Chandrababu Naidu and my family have never misused Government funds,” said Nara Bhuvaneswari after concluding her daylong hunger strike ‘Satyameva Jayate’ at Rajamahendravaram on Monday.

She is likely to kickstart the TDP version of “Odarpu Yatra” - undertaken by YS Jagan to console the families of those who died following the demise of YS Rajasekhara Reddy.

However, clarity would emerge after the decision of the Supreme Court which will hear the quash petition of Naidu on Tuesday.

Bhuvaneswari said that as many as 105 people died out of sorrow because they couldn't bear to the illegal arrest of Naidu. “To extend solidarity to the family members of the deceased, I decided to visit the families and offer them support and courage at all times. I request people to come forward and fight for their future. The people of Andhra Pradesh should regain their independence,” she said.

Highlighting the dedication and commitment of Naidu towards the development of the State, Bhuvaneswari said that the former Chief Minister prioritized and worked for people over his family. “Chandrababu Naidu lives for the people and he always thinks about how to develop the State by attracting investments and creating employment,” she said.

Bhuvaneswari said that Naidu envisioned the potential of Information Technology almost two-and-a-half decades ago and worked on its development. "Cyberabad is a testament to his hard work. Naidu always dreamed of making Amaravati bigger than Cyberabad and he even worked day and night to make it possible, by sleeping only 3-4 hours a day", she said.

Bhuvaneswari also said that when Chandrababu Naidu took charge as the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation, the State had no treasury and no infrastructure. Despite this, he tirelessly worked to develop Amaravati capital city. “I feel that the people of Andhra Pradesh should have given him at least 10 years to build the State. But due to people's mistakes, the efforts he put in for 5 years were wasted,” Bhuvaneswari said.

Referring to his father late NTR, Bhuvaneswari said that NTR established the TDP for the people. She also said that he was a man of righteousness and discipline and raised his family with these same principles. “No cases have been filed against the family so far, thanks to the discipline and integrity instilled by NTR,” she said.

Sources said that Bhuvaneswari may embark on a whirlwind bus yatra in the name of 'Meluko Telugoda' across the State from Rayalaseema districts condemning the illegal arrest of Naidu. A decision in this regard is likely to be taken by the TDP based on the outcome of the Supreme Court proceedings on quash petition filed by Naidu.

It’s said that Naidu also sat on a hunger strike inside the prison.

Several TDP leaders participated in daylong hunger strike in support of Bhuvaneswari. TDP sources said that Nara Lokesh and party MPs participated in the hunger strike in Delhi.

Nandamuri Suhasini, daughter of the late N Harikrishna, participated in the fasting from Hyderabad.
