TIRUMALA: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy on Tuesday ruled out compromise on the quality of food served to the devotees at Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam complex atop Tirumala.

Recently, a section of devotees staged a protest on the hill shrine and lamented the TTD for serving poor quality food to the devotees. A video in this regard went viral on social media platforms. Speaking to media, Karunakara Reddy said that the TTD had topped the religious institutions which provided high-quality Annaprasadam to lakhs of devotees from all over the world who throng the hill shrine every day.

The TTD chairman said around 15 persons in the dining hall amongst 700 other pilgrims had pointed out the quality of food at Annaprasadam Bhavan. “The TTD will never compromise on the quality. But the people who complained about the food quality tried to intimidate others which is wrong in a pilgrim centre. The food habits are personally divergent but in pilgrim centres, devotees have to observe patience. The TTD is always prepared to set right any lapses, if any,” Karunakara Reddy said.
