AMARAVATI: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has announced an ex gratia to the bereaved families of AP passengers in the Odisha train mishap.

At a review meeting held here on Sunday on relief and rescue operations, the Chief Minister asked officials to pay an ex gratia of Rs. 10 lakh each to the kin of the diseased, Rs 5 lakh each to those seriously injured and Rs. 1 lakh each to those who sustained minor injuries, in addition to the financial help extended by the Centre.

Jagan Mohan Reddy sought the details of AP passengers who died or sustained injuries in the accident. Officials informed him that a passenger from Srikakulam district who was a resident of Balasore in Odisha died in the accident and there were no other reports of deaths or injuries with regard to AP passengers.

Further, officials also informed the Chief Minister about the action taken by the IAS officers committee which visited the accident site under the aegis of IT Minister G Amarnath and Minister Botcha Satyanarayana who is coordinating with the officials from Visakhapatnam.
