RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: Close on the heels of twin tragedies at TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu’s public meetings last week, a near similar incident, but thankfully without any fatalities, happened at an event of YSRCP President and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday. The increased pension of Rs 2,750 was distributed by the volunteers at Rajahmundry Arts College coinciding with the public meeting of YS Jagan to mark the occasion.

An old woman accidentally fell while she was getting off a bus on this occasion. Allegedly, another vehicle ran over her, leaving the woman seriously injured. Reportedly the volunteers, who were distributing the pensions, forcibly brought elderly people over 70 years of age to the meeting which caused great inconvenience to them.

The distribution of the YSR Pension Kanuka, the amount of which was increased by the State Government as a new year gift to all beneficiaries, started on Sunday. The victim was immediately shifted to Kakinada Hospital. Her condition was reported to be critical.
