AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government on Saturday suspended the skill scam-tainted personal secretary of former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Pendyala Srinivas, for violating government service norms.

The orders were issued by Chief Secretary Jawahar Reddy. Srinivas holds the position of assistant secretary in the Planning Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh.

After Srinivas vanished without a trace and was reportedly hiding in the United States of America, the AP Planning Department issued a memo to Srinivas asking him to return within a week. The Government sought an explanation for his absence from duties without intimation and going abroad without permission.

However, Srinivas did not respond to the memo within the stipulated time, forcing the government to suspend him.

Srinivas was one of the accused in the multi-crier skill development scam case and his name was linked to IT notices received by Chandrababu. The CID has credible information that the money in the skill development scam case was routed to Chandrababu Naidu via Srinivas.
