PRAKASAM: A former police constable from Prakasam district, who resigned from his job after facing humiliation, successfully cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination on Tuesday.

Uday Krishna Reddy from Prakasam district secured the 780th rank in the 2023 UPSC Civil Services Examination results announced on April 16, 2024.

He served as a police constable in the Andhra Pradesh police department from 2013 to 2018. Reportedly, the Circle Inspector humiliated him due to a personal grudge. This incident motivated Reddy to leave his job and pursue a career as an IAS officer.

Although Uday Krishna Reddy may initially be assigned to the Indian Revenue Service, he plans to continue his studies until he qualifies for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS).
