TIRUMALA: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has offered special prayers to Lord Sri Venakteswara Swamy at Tirumala. Clad in white dhoti and sporting ‘Tilakam’ on his forehead, Modi arrived at the main entrance of the temple on Monday.

On his arrival near the temple's main entrance, Modi was received by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy, executive officer AV Dharma Reddy and other officials. The temple priests welcomed the Prime Minister with the traditional 'Isthikaphal' with recitation of vedic hymns.

Modi spent about 10 minutes inside the sanctum sanctorum and offered special prayers to the presiding deity for the good health, well-being and prosperity of 140 crore Indians. At Ranganayakula Mandapam, temple priests offered Vedasirvachanam and presented him the silk robes of Lord.

Later, the temple officials presented the portrait of Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy, prasadam, calendars and diaries of TTD for the year 2024 to Modi. Later, the Prime Minister left for Renigunta airport and left for Hyderabad to participate in the election campaign.
