AMARAVATHI: The Andhra Pradesh Education department tableau won the third prize in the People's Choice category at the parade held in the national capital, New Delhi, as part of the 75th Republic Day celebrations, the state government said in a release.

The tableau, which was designed to reflect the reforms undertaken by the state government in the education sector under the theme of "Vikasit Bharat", impressed many, the release said.

The tableau was one of 28 state tableaux that participated in the parade. The first and second prizes in the People's Choice category went to Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh, respectively.

The state government said that the innovative schemes and revolutionary reforms introduced by the Andhra Pradesh state government in the education sector, the efforts to provide world-class education to students studying in government schools, the establishment of digital classrooms with 62,000 interactive plat panels and 45,000 smart TVs as part of digital education, the establishment of English labs, bilingual textbooks, English medium education from primary level, TOEFL (primary, junior, senior) certification, CBSE, IB syllabus, distribution of free tabs to students of 8th class and teachers, and the renovation of government schools to match with corporate schools with "Manabadi Nadu-Nedu" scheme were the factors that impressed the audience.

The government also said that the state's education programs, such as Jagananna Ammavodi, Jagananna Vidya Kanuka, Jagananna Gorumudda, Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Jagananna Vasati Deevena, Jagananna Videshi Vidya Deevena, and subject teacher concept from class 3rd, were all exemplary for the country.

The government said that the state government had spent Rs 73,417 Crores on education reforms alone in the last 56 months, as Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy strongly believed that education was the only asset that could be given to children and that the expenditure on education is an investment in the future of the state.

The state government expressed happiness over the third prize awarded to the state education department tableaux at the national level. The government also thanked everyone who contributed to awarding the prize to the state government Tableaux through the People's Choice.
