Robbers' bid to loot Guntur bank foiled due to police siren

MANGALAGIRI: A gang of robbers attempted to steal money from HDFC Bank's branch in Mangalagiri of Guntur district. However, their plan was foiled afer they ran away upon hearing the police patrolling vehicle's siren.

Three robbers broke into the HDFC bank in Mangalagiri at 3:40 am on Monday and as they proceeded inside, siren of a police patrolling vehicle wailed, which forced the thieves to flee from the spot out of fear of getting caught.

The Mangalagiri police have registered a case and are investigating the crime based on the CCTV footage recovered from scene of crime.
