Scammer dupes Vijayawada youth of Rs 20 lakh promising software job on Telegram app
A youth from Vijayawada was duped Rs 20 lakh by scammers through Telegram app, who lured him by promising a software job at LTI Mindtree Limited in Bengaluru

VIJAYAWADA: A youth from Vijayawada was duped of Rs 20 lakh by scammers through Telegram app, who lured him by promising a software job at LTI Mindtree Limited, Whitefield in Bengaluru.
The victim was identified as Harshavardhan. He approached the Bhavanipuram Police on Wednesday and registered a complaint against the scammers.
The police said that Harshavardhan recently completed his engineering course and was preparing to get a job in a software company. The victim joined the ‘Developer Professionals’ group on Telegram app, a group which was providing software jobs to youth. He was introduced to the group by one of his friends Krishna Chaithanya Reddy.
The scammers asked Harshavardhan to pay Rs 20 lakh for a software job in Bengaluru. Trusting their words, the victim deposited the amount in a phased manner in July and August to the scammer identified as Srinidh. After transferring the amount to the scammer's account, the victim approached LTI Mindtree in Bengaluru and sought an appointment letter. The company clarified that they did not maintain any Telegram group for software jobs.
After getting to know that he was duped by the scammer, the victim approached the police. A case was registered against the scammer and they launched a detailed inquiry to trace the details of other victims duped by the Telegram group,.
