VIJAYAWADA: The ACB special court on Tuesday directed the Andhra Pradesh CID to present Shirish Chandrakant Shah accused in the skill development scam on January 5, 2024.

The directions came after the CID presented the accused before the court in Vijayawada. The court while directing the accused to be present in the Court on the said date, said that it would record his statement on that day.

Shirish Chandrakant Shah, who was accused 13 in the case, turned into an approver on 17 November 2023. Earlier, he was arrested in Mumbai in 2021 and was in prison for some time before securing bail.

The CID in its remand report accused Shah of establishing shell companies to transfer Government funds. He was accused of transferring funds to Skillar Enterprises, a shell company, via the Pune-based DesignTech Systems in 2015. Shah was alleged to have set up another shell company called Allied Computers International (ACI) and awarded contracts to supply hardware and software to the skill development centres.

Former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, who was A37 in the case and later termed as the prime accused by the CID, secured bail from the AP High Court. A quash petition in this case was pending before the Supreme Court.
