Supreme Court dismisses YSRCP plea against ECI order on postal ballots

AMARAVATI: A bench of Justices Arvind Kumar and Sandeep Mehta on Monday refused to interfere in the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s order dismissing the writ petition filed by the YSRCP against the Election Commission's order regarding the postal ballots.

The YSRCP filed a Special Leave Petition against the Andhra Pradesh High Court order in the Apex Court. Senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi represented the YSRCP. Senior advocates Adinarayana, Siddhartha Luthra, Ravi Teja Padiri, and Javvaji Sharath appeared for the petitioners.

Velagapudi Ramakrishna from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) already filed a caveat.

The Supreme Court also rejected a petition filed by Chevireddy Mohitreddy of YSRCP for repoll in four booths in the Chandragiri constituency.
