NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court on Monday questioned the investigating officer about the delay in the probe of YS Vivekananda Reddy's murder.

The Supreme Court also questioned CBI officers about the incomplete probe into Viveka's murder.

Concerned about the delay in Viveka's murder probe, the Supreme Court proposed the appointment of another investigating officer if the investigation could not be completed quickly.

The investigating officer, Ramsingh, was questioned about why the probe had been put on hold. If the probe was not concluded within the next few weeks, the CBI Director was asked to consider replacing the officer. If the investigating officer was not competent, the Supreme Court asked CBI counsel Natarajan to seek the CBI director's advice on appointing someone else in his place.

The CBI counsel assured the court that the investigating officer was conducting the investigation appropriately. The bench adjourned the hearing of the case till Monday.
