Condemning the unilateral attitude of Speaker Tammineni Seetaram in the House, the TDP decided to boycott the ongoing Assembly sessions

AMARAVATI: TDP leader and Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna along with other MLAs from the party expressed their dissent by whistling during the second day of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly sessions on Friday.

Condemning the unilateral attitude of Speaker Tammineni Seetaram in the House, the TDP decided to boycott the ongoing Assembly sessions. During the question hour, the TDP MLA’s staged a protest condemning the arrest of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu by carrying placards before the Speaker’s podium. At that moment, Balakrishna and Vijayawada East MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao expressed their dissent by whistling in the House.

The TDP lawmakers made slogans “Illegal cases against Chandrababu should be revoked. The psycho regime should be destroyed in Andhra Pradesh.” Irked by the behaviour of TDP MLAs, ministers Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and Ambati Rambabu were involved in a heated argument with them.

The ministers said that there would be some procedures for protesting in the House and the TDP leaders would not be spared if they made any derogatory remarks to Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and his administration. The ministers asked the TDP MLAs to participate in a debate on Skill Development scam in the House and suggested that they should refrain themselves from making unnecessary ruckus in the House.

However, the TDP lawmakers continued their agitation in the House. Intervening in the issue, minister Jogi Ramesh urged the Speaker to have the placards collected from the agitating TDP MLAs. In return, the TDP MLAs demanded that the Speaker implement the Constitution in the House. Due to this, the Speaker suspended K Atcchannaidu and B Ashok till the completion of the sessions. Later he adjourned the session.

Atcchannaidu said that condemning the unilateral attitude of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) in the House, the TDP decided to boycott the ongoing Legislative Assembly and Council sessions from Saturday. The TDP law makers had been agitating in the House for the last two days terming the arrest of Chandrababu Naidu as illegal.
