VISAKHAPATNAM: Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, sanctioned the Rs. 6,300 crore Vizag Port Highway on NH-16 near Bhogapuram on Friday. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy officially inaugurated the World Investors Summit in Visakhapatnam on Friday.

Nitin Jairam Gadkari, Union Minister of Road, Transport & Highways, Govt. of India in his key note address, highlighted the major ongoing infrastructure projects in the state that will enhance the attractiveness of the AP as an investment destination. “My ministry has decided to connect the ports with 4-lane National Highways. We are also aware that there are 3 port-led industrial corridors passing through Andhdra Pradesh and we are developing a multi-modal logistics park along these corridors,” Gadgakari said. The hon’ble union minister also mentioned that projects like Visakhapatnam – Raipur expressway and Chennai Bangaluru expressway will immensely benefit Andhra-based industries.

The grand Andhra Pradesh Investment Expo pavilion was then inaugurated by the Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and Sports Minister RK Roja. The pavilion was a grand display of private and governmental sector investment across the state in several categories.

The key highlights of the pavilion were the Andhra Pradesh pavillion, which displayed 8 key sectors through an interactive AV-based theme design, the ODOP pavillion, which showcased various handicrafts and handwoven products, and HAL, which displayed the prototype of the latest LCA and jet planes under the Public sector. The private sector was led by KIA India, Sri City, Cadbury, Vodafone, and partner nation pavilions from the UK, Japan, and the EU Chamber of Commerce.

More than 135 exhibitors are participating in the display of their businesses across two days on March 2 and 3, 2023. The day one has seen very 2000+ footfall and counting.
