Woman booked for duping APSP police in name of Chits in Mangalagiri

The accused approached the Mangalagiri APSP Battalion asking them to join the chits group and amassed Rs. 12 crore.

MANGALAGIRI: A woman along with an outsourced employee working at Mangalagiri Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) were booked for allegedly deceiving the police besides the general public under the guise of Chits.

The accused, identified as Sridevi who lived near the Police Battalion area approached the Mangalagiri APSP Battalion asking them to join the chits group and amassed Rs. 12 crore. It is learned that Sridevi allegedly had a live-in relationship with an outsourcing employee at MTMC.

The victims approached Mangalagiri Rural Police after they realised Sridevi was absconding. Police registered a case based on the complaint of the APSP police.
